The BETA Team is Growing

Emily Slotnick, AICP, CFM, BETA climate resiliency manager

BETA is pleased to welcome Emily Slotnick, CFM, AICP as Climate Resiliency Manager. Emily started her career in the private sector, working alongside environmental and civil engineers on flood damage reduction and shoreline restoration projects throughout Washington State. She moved back to the east coast in the weeks following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, at which point she began developing expertise in disaster recovery, community resilience, and natural hazard mitigation planning. Emily assisted communities in their recovery efforts from those two storms, as well as from Super Storm Sandy. In 2017, Emily brought her expertise to the public sector, leading the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission’s hazard mitigation planning and climate adaptation program, as well as the MA Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program. Emily has worked with clients to integrate climate impact projections into their plans, and she takes great pride in leading communities through the process of planning for climate resilience.

We are committed to future growth.

Want to join Emily and our other employee owners? We are currently looking for talented staff across many of our disciplines, in offices throughout New England. BETA will challenge you with interesting work assignments and offers the potential for growth and advancement.

World Landscape Architecture Month

World Landscape Architecture Month

April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM). Established by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), WLAM is a month-long international celebration of landscape architecture and designed public and private spaces.

This year’s theme is “Growing Together.” To see some of the ways in which BETA has helped communities grow together in the spaces our landscape architects create, click here.

As part of this year’s World Landscape Architecture Month, ASLA is also teaming up with EarthDay.org to sponsor The Great Global Cleanup 2021. ASLA members and the public can organize and join local cleanup projects as part of the effort.
