Mykel Mendes Receives EBC Ascending Leader Award

BETA environmental professional Mykel Mendes recipient of EBC Ascending Leader Award

We are proud to announce that BETA environmental professional Mykel Mendes has received the EBC Ascending Leader Award. Each year the EBC Ascending Leader Award recognizes young professionals in the energy and environmental fields who demonstrate exceptional leadership and industry involvement early in their promising careers. Award recipients typically demonstrate leadership in their field, early career success in the energy/environmental field, industry and/or civic involvement, and recognition outside of their employers.

Mykel has nine years of experience in the environmental field and has developed an impressive list of project experience and leadership, especially in ground water treatment system design and maintenance, field engineering services, and the organization and resolution of remediation events. Additionally, Mykel is a committed member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Boston Post and recently received the Post’s highest honor, the S. Peter Volpe Award, for her outstanding and dedicated support.

Mykel was nominated for the EBC award by BETA Senior Vice President of Environmental Services Marylou Armstrong, LSP. “Mykel consistently demonstrates professionalism and a strong work ethic. She is truly a pleasure to work with, self-motivated, and always a team player. Although Mykel is still ascending in our industry, she is already a mentor for younger staff, discussing and sharing her knowledge. Mykel aspires to be an Environmental PE and LSP in the future, and I have absolutely no doubt she will succeed in both of those aspirations,” said Armstrong.
