Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program

The Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary grant program will provide billions in funding over the next five years to support regional, local, and Tribal initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. The grant application period is anticipated to be opened later this month.

In advance of the application opening, we recommend that interested parties obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), which is required in order to apply for the funding and may take several weeks to process.

Pedaling into National Bike Month

National Bike Month

Established in 1956 and promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, May is National Bike Month – the perfect time to celebrate the physical, mental, and environmental benefits that bicycling can have on our health and the planet. According to the League, even short bike rides can reduce stress and improve overall mood, mental clarity, and sleep. Data from the Bureau of Transportation shows that in areas with bike paths or lanes, cyclists report feeling significantly safer and more encouraged to bike.

BETA is proud to work on projects that make bicycling safer and more accessible throughout communities in New England. These include our recent work on the Cochituate Rail Trail in Natick, MACommonwealth Ave in Boston, MA; and Slater Mill Multi-Use Path Improvements in Pawtucket, RI. We are also currently working on bicycle, pedestrian, and roadway improvements on Union Ave in Framingham, MA, where a shared used path has been designed to separate bicycles from vehicular conflicts at the intersection. Read more about these and other recent bike-friendly projects here.

Interested in the benefits biking could bring to your community? Reach out today to discuss your next project.
