Resident Engineer

Our growing team has an immediate opening for a Resident Construction Engineer in BETA’s Connecticut construction practice. The ideal candidate must be a driven, enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented manager/engineer ready to move to the next stage of their career. The Resident Construction Engineer will play a large part in strengthening our service to an expanding New England client base by providing a key role in the development of projects, while overseeing and mentoring younger staff. Collaboration within and between multiple disciplines in the company is a requisite key to our collective success.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to deliver quality CE&I and construction management services
• Considerable knowledge of Connecticut highway, bridge, rail, and facilities construction practices and procedures
• Practical knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials
• Demonstrated ability to prepare correspondence, reports, and recommendations concerning construction issues
• Proven ability to supervise and deal effectively with others
• Must be independent, highly motivated, self-starter
• Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
• Energetic with a positive attitude toward clients, contractors, and the general public

Education and Experience:

• Must have minimum of 12 years of industry experience
• Must have minimum of 8 years of field inspection experience
• Must have minimum of 6 years of supervisory experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering required
• Connecticut PE required
