GIS Intern

BETA’s GIS & asset management group is looking for GIS Interns to join our team of GIS professionals and support BETA’s GIS & Asset Management discipline.

The GIS Intern will support ongoing field data collection for municipal utility and environmental projects, and will be responsible for assisting with GIS related tasks (mapping, data entry, etc.). The qualified applicant will have some familiarity with GIS based tools, particularly ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap and ArcGIS Online.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collection of field data, asset inspections, and field measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets
  • Develop cartographic mapping and reporting
  • Assist with GIS data editing tasks under the direction of a project manager
  • Work cooperatively with other office staff and/or project managers to complete assigned work

Requirements:

  • Relevant GIS coursework
  • Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and learning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license is a must
