Alan D. Hanscom, LSP
As a Vice President of BETA, Alan is involved with the firm’s most challenging and critical projects involving environmental permitting, building demolition, and environmental contamination. He is routinely involved with development and oversight of soil characterization projects under the MCP. In addition, Mr. Hanscom is involved with EPA Brownfields and other publicly funded projects dealing with a wide range of contamination issues. He has comprehensive knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations in addressing environmental issues for a variety of clients. His clients have included public and municipal agencies, developers, utilities, manufacturers and other private sector clients.
Alan is currently involved with numerous projects including the Uniroyal/Facemate Brownfields and demolition projects for the Chicopee Office of Economic and Community Development. He is currently supporting the City in ongoing negotiations with the Site’s primary responsible party (PRP) and continues to support the Brownfields Support Team (BST) to promote timely and cost-effective decisions regarding MCP response actions on this Site.
Alan is a graduate of the University of Maine where he played football and baseball. He remains a die-hard sports fan who also enjoys reading, carpentry, wind surfing, golf, and a variety of other outdoor activities.
