Fairview Heights Road Improvement

Cromwell, Connecticut

BETA prepared preliminary and final designs for this project, which is comprised of four streets: Fairview Heights, Fern Street, Rosewood Lane, and George Street.

This project generally consisted of drainage improvements and road reconstruction of existing residential roadways. As part of the scope of work, completion of a field survey within the project limits and a geotechnical investigation took place to determine the appropriate pavement rehabilitation strategies.

The improvements included roadway reconstruction, new storm drainage, bituminous lip curbing, and incidental work. Design work involved modifying the roadway widths to meet Town standards and provide positive drainage. In addition, roadway grades were lowered approximately 6 inches to minimize impacts to private properties.
