Municipal Incinerator Abatement and Demolition

BETA is providing engineering services related to the hazardous material abatement and demolition of the municipal incinerator at the Wharf Street landfill. The project includes abatement of building materials containing asbestos, abatement of PCB-impacted paint which was managed as bulk product waste under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), characterization and disposal of ash in the building, demolition of the building, and demolition of a 160-ft stack located adjacent to a closed municipal landfill.
BETA’s services include:
- Conducting a pre-demolition survey for hazardous building materials (e.g. asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, ash, etc.)
- Conducting a wetland resource delineation and preparing a Notice of Intent
- Preparing an asbestos Non-Traditional abatement Work Plan (NTWP)
- Preparing technical specifications and contract documents and providing bidding assistance
- Providing construction phase services including monitoring for compliance with the Order of Conditions, Non-Traditional Abatement Work Plan, and contract documents
