BETA Receives ACEC-RI 2025 Engineering Excellence Award for Stormwater Improvements in Warwick

June 10, 2025

BETA is proud to share that our Airport Road Stormwater Improvements Project in Warwick, Rhode Island, has been awarded Third Place in the 2025 ACEC-RI Engineering Excellence Awards.

Each year, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Rhode Island (ACEC-RI) recognizes outstanding engineering projects that demonstrate a high degree of merit and ingenuity. This year’s honor celebrates BETA’s work with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) to address water quality impairments and flooding risks in the Warwick Pond watershed.

As part of RIDOT’s Warwick Ponds Stormwater Control Plan, BETA provided drainage, stormwater design, and environmental permitting services for the installation of one of the agency’s largest underground infiltration chamber systems to treat runoff from Airport Road and nearby neighborhoods. The project included restoring existing infiltration areas, adding pretreatment infrastructure, and upgrading drainage components to improve water quality and reduce localized flooding.

We’re proud to have played a role in advancing this important stormwater initiative, supporting a cleaner, safer, and more resilient future for Warwick and the surrounding watershed.
