Karen Leung, PE
Senior Transportation Engineer
Karen has 22 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Early in her career, she worked for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) reviewing consultant highway plans and designing in-house projects in District 2, which covers Franklin, Hampden, and Worcester counties.
Karen has been involved in the design and construction of a significant number of roadway and highway projects for MassDOT and municipal clients. Many of her projects are complete street projects in which the goal is to have the project be friendly to all users, vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. These projects emphasize connectivity and the needs of the neighborhood.
She has a thorough understanding of transportation design requirements, including alignment, grading, drainage, and ADA compliance, as well as the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates. Karen utilizes AutoCAD Civil3D in the design of her projects. She has worked in Microstation and InRoads and has had training in OpenRoads.
