City of Worcester Unveils Reimagined Francis R. Carroll Plaza
On July 19th, 2023, the City of Worcester and The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts hosted a ribbon cutting and rededication ceremony for the redesigned Francis R. Carroll Plaza and Bank of America Stage. This project has transformed Federal Square into a vibrant, active, and walkable urban corridor for both residents and visitors of the City. The plaza’s revitalization is part of a broader $11 million project aimed at fully reconstructing and reimagining Main Street—a venture that BETA has been involved in since 2013. Read more here.
Community Design Charrette Hosted by Plan New Hampshire in Manchester
With an office right in the City of Manchester and local knowledge from our work in the surrounding communities, BETA did not hesitate to participate in Plan New Hampshire’s recent Community Design Charrette. Plan NH encourages communities to hold charrette meetings in order to bring together local citizens, business owners, and other stakeholders to discuss existing infrastructure issues and develop mitigation measures by exploring potential solutions and brainstorming recommendations. We were excited to offer our transportation engineering and planning expertise to address traffic-related issues and quality of life improvements for residents. Read more here.
Employee Spotlight
Since the start of his career in 2010, Christopher Turgeon, PE, ENV SP, LPA has been instrumental in the effective completion of several key infrastructure projects throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Chris is a project manager in BETA’s Manchester, New Hampshire office and has played a critical role in growing and leading this office to continued success. Read more here.

Welcome to the Team!
Kuhu Choudhary joins BETA as an engineering designer in our water/wastewater group. Kuhu received her bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Manipal University in Manipal, India and her master’s in environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While attending UMass Amherst, Kuhu was a graduate research assistant and aided Mass-DEP in evaluating the performance of commercially available Point-of-Use (POU) water treatment devices in removing PFAS from contaminated drinking water. She was also an engineer trainee for Reliance Industries Limited in Mumbai, India and managed the sale of downstream petroleum products.
