September Newsletter – Another Successful Summer
September 17, 2024
As we wrap up another fantastic summer at BETA, we’re proud to share some recent highlights and look ahead to the changing season. This fall, we’re eager to take on new and exciting projects; catch up with clients, colleagues, and friends at industry events; and connect with emerging talent at career fairs.
BETA recently completed the Bristol, RI Landfill Solar project, a significant step in expanding renewable energy infrastructure. This project transformed a previously underutilized area into a productive solar array, contributing to sustainable energy goals and reducing carbon emissions. Our team was proud to play a key role in planning, designing, and constructing the project, reflecting our commitment to innovative environmental solutions and supporting the community’s transition to clean energy.
The City of Lowell, MA celebrated a significant milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Veterans Park, a project that revitalized a key community space with thoughtful design and enhanced accessibility. BETA’s landscape architects worked closely with City officials and local stakeholders to create a park that honors veterans while providing a vibrant gathering place for residents. This project highlights our dedication to building public spaces that reflect community values and foster connectivity.
BETA participated in Hartford’s National Night Out event on August 6th to engage the community in the Keney Park Master Plan. This plan aims to enhance Hartford’s largest park through facility upgrades, new recreational spaces, and sustainability efforts. Community feedback is key to shaping these improvements, and residents were invited to share ideas and preferences at the event, ensuring the park continues to serve and reflect the community’s needs.
BETA’s ongoing improvements at the Taunton, MA Wastewater Treatment Facility are set to help the City meet new permit limits by reducing total nitrogen discharge into the Taunton River. These upgrades, along with the newly commissioned 25 MGD Main Lift Pumping Station, will enhance the City of Taunton and Veolia North America’s ability to manage wastewater needs effectively, ensuring long-term sustainability. Check out recent drone footage of the facility here.
Our recent company outing was a fantastic opportunity for the BETA team to come together, relax, and celebrate our collective achievements. With plenty of fun activities, great food, and team-building moments, it was a memorable day that strengthened our connections and energized us for the exciting projects ahead. Pictured above is BETA’s GIS and Asset Management team, one of the largest in New England.
As we dive into a busy event season, our team is excited to connect with industry professionals and showcase our latest projects and innovations. Be sure to visit our booth to meet our experts, explore our services, and learn how we can support your next initiative. We look forward to seeing you there!
