BETA Group, Inc. Announces Christopher McDermott as Vice President, Director of Business Development

Lincoln, RI — BETA Group, Inc. (BETA), a leading provider of engineering, planning, landscape architecture, geospatial solutions, and environmental consulting services in New England, is pleased to announce that Christopher McDermott, PE, LSP, has joined the firm as Vice President, Director of Business Development.

In this role, McDermott will lead BETA’s firmwide growth strategy, focusing on strengthening client relationships, expanding strategic partnerships, and advancing opportunities across municipal, agency, and private-sector markets. He will work closely with BETA’s leadership, service area leaders, and marketing team to identify new opportunities, enhance client engagement, and support the firm’s continued growth.

McDermott brings nearly three decades of experience in engineering consulting and strategic growth leadership. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Strategic Growth at a global consulting, engineering, and construction management firm, where he helped lead growth initiatives for the firm’s Environment & Infrastructure sector and managed major public-sector accounts including Amtrak, MassDOT, MBTA, and Massport.

McDermott holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Sciences from Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Providence College. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and a Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional.
