BETA Group, Inc. (BETA) is proud to congratulate Peter Garvey, PE, on assuming the role of Speaker of the House for the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) House of Delegates on September 9, 2026.
The House of Delegates serves as WEF’s deliberative and representational body, bringing together Member Association Delegates and Delegates-at-Large to help inform the organization’s strategic direction and public policy development. As Speaker, Peter will oversee the activities and business of the House over the coming year while collaborating with delegates from across the federation, WEF’s Board of Trustees, and its Community Leadership Council. He will also represent the House of Delegates on WEF’s Board of Trustees.
Peter brings extensive industry leadership and advocacy experience to the role. He has been heavily involved with the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA), including serving as Chair of the Collection Systems Committee and NEWEA Delegate to WEF. He has also served as a WEF Delegate-at-Large since 2023, representing the organization’s Water Advocacy program, promoting clean water funding and practical regulations, expanding participation in WEF’s Water Advocates program, and advocating for multiple states during congressional briefings on Capitol Hill.
At BETA, Peter leads the water/wastewater engineering practice and supports the continued growth of our clean water services throughout New England. His experience complements BETA’s multidisciplinary approach to helping municipalities address complex water infrastructure challenges, from wastewater collection and treatment to water distribution, pumping systems, combined sewer overflow mitigation, and other critical infrastructure improvements.
Peter’s leadership within WEF reflects the same commitment to clean water, collaboration, and improved communities that guides BETA’s work every day. We celebrate Peter and this significant professional achievement, and look forward to his contributions to WEF and the water environment profession in the year ahead.
