Matt is an Associate in BETA’s transportation department with more than 20 years of professional experience specializing in both stormwater and transportation engineering. His portfolio spans a variety of engineering disciplines and projects, ranging from small-scale emergency repairs to large-scale highway designs.
A registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Matt has extensive experience conducting detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, designing and implementing stormwater Best Management Practices (including low-impact development techniques), and preparing environmental permits. He is also skilled in right-of-way acquisitions, utility coordination, and construction monitoring. His work often involves producing comprehensive reports, cost estimates, and technical specifications, as well as reviewing and approving shop drawings and contract documents to ensure quality and compliance with current standards. In addition to his technical skills, Matt is adept at developing roadway and traffic control plans, providing peer review services for Planning Boards and Conservation Commissions, and supporting environmental compliance efforts through the preparation of environmental impact statements and assessments. He is also experienced in delivering public presentations for project outreach and permitting processes.
Matt leverages a strong foundation in engineering software, including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and Hydraflow Storm Sewers, to produce detailed designs and contract documents. His diverse project portfolio reflects his comprehensive knowledge and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for municipal and transportation clients.
