Cheryl Souza

Associate

Cheryl is an Associate with 30 years of experience in accounting and administration. She began her career at BETA in 2017 as a Senior Accounting/Office Administrator, at which time she managed the front desk and accounts payable. As she became more acclimated with BETA and our accounting functions, Cheryl continued to take on more responsibilities. Today, she supervises, trains, and mentors the entire accounting and administrative team. Cheryl monitors our internal accounting systems and procedures, utilizing her analytical skills to make operational improvements when necessary. She maintains and monitors BETA’s monthly financial schedules and cash accounts, as well as establishes relationships and coordinates with all benefit providers. Cheryl regularly attends conferences to learn about ways to enhance our software systems. She is an active member of our Upgrade Committee and is currently preparing conversions to more efficient internal systems.

Cheryl is a graduate of Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She is an active member of her community, having served as President of Marissa’s Magic Foundation. The Foundation coordinates fundraising events to benefit children with diabetes in Rhode Island. She is actively involved with Camp Surefire, an overnight camp for children with diabetes, and has served on their fundraising committee. Cheryl has also served as a mentor for JDRF, supporting families with children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. In her free time, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.
