Veterans Memorial Park

BETA worked with City staff and the Lowell Project Design Committee to design Veterans Park in Lowell’s Belvidere neighborhood. The new park honors and memorializes veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The design includes a vegetated buffer of native plantings for abutting homeowners on three sides and incorporates pedestrian connections and programming for the adjacent elementary school. Input from local residents and the Belvidere Neighborhood Association helped shape the design, creating both a gathering space and areas for quiet reflection.

Completed in 2024, the project features new lighting, meandering walkways, ornamental plantings, custom curved granite seat walls with plaques recognizing all branches of the U.S. military, a flagpole with an inscribed base, an irrigation system, and green infrastructure, including rain gardens for stormwater management.
