Wayfinding Signage Master Plan
Framingham, Massachusetts
The City of Framingham hired BETA to prepare a public signage program that establishes a consistent design language for the community’s informational and directional signs. The Wayfinding Master Plan provides a roadmap for an easily recognizable signage system that directs both visitors and residents to key destinations and features throughout the City. It also serves as a branding tool for the community and its numerous villages.
This detailed plan establishes a hierarchy of signage types, including community and village gateway signs, vehicular directional signs, pedestrian directional signs, informational kiosks, destination identification signs, trail signs, and parking signs. The plan also identifies locations for each signage element throughout the system.
